RHA S500i In-Ear Headphones Review

Lately we’ve been reviewing all sorts of high-end audio gear which we can't complain about, but it also means that these gadgets come with a hefty wallet-draining price tag to match. So we think it’s time for something a little more affordable, and it just so happens that British audio brand, RHA, has come out with a brand-new pair of in-ear headphones at a very attractive price. These aren't just another cheap and inexpensive pair though, the super tiny S500i are as premium as some of the most expensive in-ear headphones on the market when it comes to styling, build quality and sound - only at a budget friendly $50 price point. But are they any better than one of our all-time favorite in-ear headphones under the $200 mark – the $89 NS500 made by the Swedish audio brand Nocs?

Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless Headphones Review

We're no strangers to high-end headphones, so when Bowers & Wilkins sent over its latest wireless headphones, we knew we were in for a special treat. The P5 Wireless are an icon brought back to the 21st century. These closed-back on-ear headphones are the wireless version of Bowers & Wilkins’ P5 Series 2, featuring a 17-hour battery life and the same level of high-end materials wrapped around an elegantly designed chassis. Expertly tuned 40mm drivers are said to reproduce the same unadulterated, natural and detailed sound that is afforded by the P5 Series 2 headphones. Sony SRS-XB3 Portable Wireless Speaker Review

Sony has released a number of new wireless portable speakers this year with enhanced features like water-resistant properties, greatly improved battery life, and a new Extra Bass mode which Sony claims will produce a deeper, punchier sound using its custom digital signal processing whilst also reducing midrange distortion. With these enhancements also comes more refined designs that while don't drastically veer off from their predecessors, are a welcome change no less. The new SRS-XB3 ($150) and SRS-XB2 ($100) portable speakers both replace SRS-X33 and SRS-X2, and are a part of Sony's affordably priced models. But what we're going to be taking a closer look at is Sony's SRS-XB3, the portable speaker that most likely everyone is going to be interested in as it strikes a perfect balance between price, performance and portability. It even has larger full-range drivers and double the battery life compared to Sony's new and more expensive (also larger) Wi-Fi-enabled H.ear Go SRS-HG1 ($200) portable speaker. But enough rambling, let's get to it and find out how this speaker handles in practice.

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay S3 Review

When you want good sounding audio packed into aesthetically pleasing enclosures, you turn to Bang & Olufsen. It's just what you do. This is B&O's BeoPlay S3, a weirdly shaped wireless speaker designed specifically for home use. The S3 is only a mono speaker, but it can easily be paired wirelessly to a secondary S3 speaker in a stereo setup. In other words, B&O wants you to eventually add another speaker so that you can enjoy a more spacious sound. It starts with one, but eventually you'll want to grow your speaker minion collection in order to create an immersive sound experience throughout your home – a la Sonos. But how does just a single S3 speaker perform all on its lonesome? You're about to find out!

Jays u-Jays On-Ear Headphones Review

Jays is back at it again, this time with a new pair of closed-back on-ear headphones, which the company boasts as its most premium set of cans yet. They certainly look the part. The u-JAYS are stunningly minimalist, clean and timeless in design, boasting Jays signature black colorway with ultra modern aesthetics and contrasting metal accents. Priced in at $230, the u-JAYS promise extreme prolong wearability using a lightweight silicone-skinned headband with stainless steel reinforcement for increased durability as well as a balanced fit with minimized clamping force over the ears. Viscoelastic on-ear cushions help create a tight fitting seal by conforming to the shape of the wearer's ears, and are said to help improve sound quality and minimize sound leakage. Sony H.ear On MDR-100AAP Headphones Review

Sony introduced a new line of headphones this year that are among its most vibrant and refreshingly stylish headphones in recent years. Sony's new H.ear On lineup of wired and wireless over-ear headphones offer a minimalist, clean design with promising high-resolution 24bit audio performance at a competitive price point. The H.ear On model MDR-100AAP we're about to review are the best looking headphones Sony has made in quite a while. While they aren't wireless or equipped with active noise-cancellation like their identically designed H.ear On model MDR-100ABN, these wired versions are cheaper and deliver the same level of sound quality of not greater thanks to a slightly broader range of frequency response. So does the sound also match their svelte aesthetics? Let's find out!
