This Could Be What The iPhone 6 Looks Like

Here it is, the iPhone 6. Or at least we're 95% sure that this is in fact Apple's highly anticipated, larger iPhone 6. The leaked low-resolution photos are of what appears to be the redesigned rear aluminum shell as well as the larger screen size of the soon to be released iPhone 6, which were anonymously posted on Twitter today. The parts do look mighty convincing and are also said to be in the hands of Sonny Dickson, which was the first person that has leaked legitimate photos of the iPhone 5c and Retina iPad mini months before the official Apple unveiling. It is rumored that Apple plans to use sapphire glass for the iPhone 6's display for its superior hardness and scratch-resistance compared to Gorilla Glass.

Other than having virtually no side screen bezel and a asymmetrical top and bottom portions, it looks like the iPhone 6 will be considerably slimmer than the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s while also adapting a near-identical design to the current iPod touch which features a flat aluminum back with pronounced beveled edges with a polished chamfer - also found on the iPad mini and iPad Air. It is believed that Apple will release two different screen sizes of the iPhone 6: one with a 4.7-inch screen and one with a much larger 5.7-inch screen. It's difficult to tell from these leaked photos what screen size this device has, but if we were to guess by comparing the Touch id home button to the width of the iPhone 5s, it looks more like a 4.7-inch screen.

The only reason why anyone would pass these off as fakes or possibly prototypes that will never see the light of day is because the rear aluminum shell of these leaked iPhone 6 parts does not have a plastic or glass surface for the wireless antennas to breathe through signal reception like the rear shells of the iPod touch and previous iPhones. From what we already know, it would be impossible for these antenna to pass signal through such a solid metal design. Although it could be that Apple has found a way to engineer a clean and flawless aluminum unibody iPhone design (or possibly one that is made from a different type of material) without having to ruin the fluid use of a single piece of metal. Here's What Apple's Low-Cost iPhone 5C Looks Like

We're no blog to jump into conclusions, but we're very confident that this is what Apple's purported next low-cost, budget iPhone looks like. Or however you'd like to call it. In fact, this is the actual leaked and unfinished rear shell part with an iPhone 5 display fitted in to get a real feel for what we should be expecting the final thing to be like. Sporting a rounded rear shell design that looks like a bulkier 5th generation iPod touch if it were made out of plastic, the budget iPhone will be made out of strong polycarbonate plastic and will be made available in multiple vibrant colors, all of which will come with a black 4-inch display, a rear facing camera with LED flash and physical buttons.

As for storage capacities, we think Apple will only make 8GB and 16GB models to keep the cost down in addition to lower speced hardware of course. The rear polycarbonate shells will have an iPhone 3G-like glossy finish only that more colors would be made available other than the standard white and black.

Apple's Tim Cook promised to deliver a quality product no matter how much it'll cost when asked about the possibility of a cheaper iPhone, and Techdy, the site that got hold of the leaked parts and put out a generous amount of detailed photos of the assembly, has confirmed that the polycarbonate shell does not feel cheap and that it feels better made than Samsung's Galaxy smartphones. Check out the in-depth video after the break!

Update: The plastic iPhone goes by the name - iPhone 5C.

Newly Redesigned Earphones Coming With The iPhone 5?

With all the leaks and rumors that have been creating huge hype around the iPhone 5 release, we practically already know everything that is waiting for us at Apple's keynote. What nobody has yet to mention are the ever-so-popular Apple earphones that have accompanied the iPhone since the very first generation... until now.

Macrumors reports that a Vietnamese source called Tinhte.vn has provided images and details on the possible next generation Apple headphones. Moving away from the common earbud shapes that we have all grown accustomed to, Apple is heading towards a completely new design. The image above compares the newly redesigned earphones (left) with the old generation (right) that we have come to both hate and love. This source goes into further detail, claiming a Foxconn plant in Vietnam has been assembling these new earphones ahead of the September 12th event.

While there have been no confirmation from other sources on the legitimacy of this rumor, the overall design and build quality reflects what Apple is known for. Whether or not this is simply another rumor or the real deal, we will just have to wait and see. 11 more days everybody! Catch the video overview after the break.

The New iPhone 5 Charge & Sync Connector Leaked

Rumor and speculation talks of a smaller, redesigned Dock Connector port circling the soon to be released iPhone 5 have just become all the more plausible with hard core evidence of some leaked parts of what is said to be the iPhone 5's new 8-pin Dock Connector plug with a MagSafe-like design. The parts show a much rounded charge and sync plug without the cable attached that matches recent hardware leaks of the iPhone 5's redesigned Dock Connector port. Nowhereelse reports that these parts are yet to be confirmed , but we're seeing the big picture already. And we think Apple is indeed going smaller with the iPhone 5 to save valuable space in hopes of making a much better charge and sync experience for iPhone users.

iPhone 5 Physical Mockup Is Beautiful

The alleged iPhone 5 is starting to take shape after case leaks suggested a redesigned body with iPad 2-like characteristics. Until now we've seen countless renders of how the iPhone 5 will supposedly look like, but now an actual physical mockup of an iPhone 5 was made based on recent case leaks and hardware components.

Based on CAD designs, hardware components, several leaked hints, cases and recent, believable mockups we created a three-dimensional computer model. This virtual model was then used to build a very detailed, true prototype that you can hold in your own two hands.

The process to create this prototype is the same that’s used to create the iPad. The back was machined from a sold block of aluminium, which was later treated with glass pearls to get the same slightly rough touch that we already know from the iPad.

iPhone 5 mockup on the right

We've seen exact physical mockups of the iPad 2 week before it was released that have proven to be on point thanks to various case leaks of the iPad 2. This iPhone 5 mockup could really be what Apple has up its sleeve for when it will announce the next new iPhone on October 4.

Otterbox Case Packaging Reveals iPhone 4S?

Looks like Otterbox is very confident that the upcoming iPhone will not be called the iPhone 5, but rather the iPhone 4S which is said to sport the same design as the current iPhone 4 with some spec bumps. Thanks to the Chronic Wire for the leaks, Otterbox reportedly was so confident that it has manufactured as much as 3 million of these iPhone 4S cases. The above image shows the packaging of the Commuter Series case designed for the iPhone 4S.

On the back, the packaging reveals an iPhone 4-like iPhone 4S with repositioned volume buttons on the right hand side instead of the left where they have always been from the very first iPhone. The Commuter Series case for the purported iPhone 4S has the following features:

  • 1. Impact absorbing silicone
  • 2. Hi-impact polycarbonate
  • 3. Port and button covers
  • 4. Self-adhesive screen protector

Apple's next iPhone is highly expected to be revealed in early October.
