Retina Display Macbook Pros Are Impossible To Repair

The Retina Display and the form factor on the next-generation Macbook Pros are nothing short from amazing, but iFixit recently revealed this revolutionary product's internals and uncovered unfortunate results. The internal design of these Macbook Pros are completely custom to Apple, the SSDs utilize different connectors that are not compatible with third party SSDs, and the RAM is soldered onto the logic board. The MVP of the entire laptop would be its beautiful display, but if you're not careful, you'll have to get yourself a brand new laptop. Without any extra glass in front of the display, damage to the screen would be completely irreplaceable. To further prevent any customizability for us consumers, Apple aligned and set the battery cells directly on top of crucial cables.

It seems like Apple is pushing customers to purchasing upgrades through them directly. It is a shame that the Pro line cannot be self-upgraded as a lot of us look forward to the customizability of adding additional RAM or more harddrive space.

V-Moda Offers Custom Crossfade LP Headphones

V-Moda has opened up a custom program for their Crossdafe LP headphones called the Crossfade Customs. V-Moda offers you the ability to personalize your very own set of Crossfade LP headphones priced at $199.99. You can now choose from six plate color options ranging from black, gold, guntmetal, pink, purple, red and chrome. In addition, there are four unique engraved designed to choose from and you can even add your own custom text. The only problem here is the V-Moda does not let you customize the color plate alone but makes you use one of their designs which include a numbered jersey, crown, skull snake, and vinyl immortal angel logo.

I reviewed the Crossfade LP headphones a while back and thought they were a very good sounding pair of headphones. They new Crossfade Customs program is a nice addition especially for no extra cost.

Colorware's $300 Grip Case for iPad

This is madness! Colorware are now shipping their first ever case for the iPad called Grip, an aluminum case that only protects your iPad's bezel. The Grip might look a bit familiar to you if you came across ElementCase's Vapor aluminum cases for the iPhone 4. The Grip requires bolts to be screwed in order to install it on your iPad and it comes with the tools you need to the task. The Grip's handle allows you to easily carry your iPad around like a suitcase and supposedly gives you a good grip on your iPad. All this for your $300 of course, are you crazy enough to order one yourself? It's solid aluminum construction looks great but the price is definitely not right.

Being Colorware, you are able to fully color customize your Grip case for the iPad in any color combination your mind fancies. The Grip is available in a glossy and soft-touch finishes as well as in an unpainted version, but It will cost you an extra $30 to color customize and get the soft-touch version of the Grip.
