Amazon Upgrades Kindle Fire, Now $159

Though it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to us, Amazon is keeping its original 7-inch Kindle Fire tablet around, but it now has faster internals at an even more aggressive price to help it compete against Google's $199 Nexus 7. The new 2012 Kindle Fire boasts 40% faster performance and is now $159. It comes with a faster 1.2GHz processor, double the RAM at 1GB and longer battery life. The new 2012 Kindle Fire will start shipping on September 14th. If you haven't noticed, an extra $40 gets you the new 7-inch Kindle Fire HD.
