Element Case Vapor Dock Au Gold Lightning Dock for iPhone Review

Gold may be a precious metal, but it's now also a desired color finish as far as high-end gadgets are concerned. And because many users are jumping on board, the color is fast and away becoming a standard hue when considering accessories for newly released devices. Most notably of course Apple's latest iPhone 5s, as well as a growing number of rivals from the Android side. Case manufacturers were obviously quick to follow this trend it seems with gold colored accessories designed to compliment the gold iPhone 5s. We have already taken a look at quite a few of these very accessories, including Element Case's Sector 5 Au aluminum hybrid case. Today we will be taking yet another one of Element Case's gold Au accessories for a spin - the Vapor Dock Au. Identical to its 30-pin sibling, the Vapor Dock Au is a Lightning connector charge and sync dock machined entirely out of a block of aluminum, and anodized in a svelte gold color. OCDesk OCDock iPhone 5 iMac Lightning Dock Review

OCDesk OCDock iPhone 5 iMac Lightning Dock Review

Charging docks this innovative are one in a million. The OCDock is one of the many incredible things to have originated due to the crowed-funding platform Kickstarter. It is also a part of a rather small group of truly innovative accessories that has gathered a great deal of iPhone and iMac-using followers. The problem with docks these days is that while they may be minimalist to the utmost degree, they still take up desk space and look like a wired mouse with an exposed cable running from behind. We love to cut the cord on just about everything don't we? That is what OCDesk set out do achieve with their OCDock dock for the iPhone 4/S and iPhone 5. It was designed to seamlessly flow with the iMac or Thunderbolt Display whilst cleverly concealing its cable to form super clean desk setup any Apple enthusiast will fall in love with.

If you've got an iMac or a Thunderbolt Display, this aluminum-machined dock was made for you and your iPhone. Our full review awaits!

JBL OnBeat Venue LT Review

JBL OnBeat Venue LT Review

Following our most recent review on JBL's hardwired OnBeat Micro speaker dock comes the OnBeat Venue LT - a much larger, more powerful wireless speaker with a Lightning connector dock that's designed to work with Apple's full line of Lightning connector-equipped iDevices including the iPad mini, iPad 4, iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5. After spending an intimate time with the Flip (the best portable speaker of its stature based on our findings) as well as the OnBeat Micro, we now have a clear perception of what we can generally expect from JBL on audio performance terms. The OnBeat Venue LT is a modified and updated version of JBL's original OnBeat Venue, which supported Apple's now obsolete 30-pin Dock Connector. JBL's OnBeat Venue LT pretty much met our expectations, but it isn't without its flaws as you shall soon discover.

JBL OnBeat Micro Review

JBL OnBeat Micro Review

Apple's recent transition over to the superior Lightning connector resulted in quite a few now obsolete 30-pin dock connector accessories and frustrated early adopters. JBL faithfully beat everyone to the punch in releasing the world's first portable Lightning speaker dock. JBL's OnBeat Micro is a smallish speaker dock which features a set of powerful speakers for room-filling stereo sound, and a built-in Lightning connector that will work with the iPhone 5 as well as the iPod Touch 5. JBL took us by surprise when we reviewed its portable Flip speaker, which turned out to be astoundingly awesome. We've even considered it to be the best sounding Bluetooth portable speaker in the $100 price range. Suffice it to say the OnBeat Micro will not disappoint us in the sound department either.
