Panasonic Offering Time Warner Cable IPTV and DVR Access App

With IPTV coming more popular with AT&T U-Verse, Verizon FiOS, and more, at CES 2012 Panasonic is showing off TWC streaming TV channels with a new application. Panasonic is demonstrating TWC with DLNA(Digital Living Network Alliance) streaming access to anything stored in a DVR on the same network. The app will be able to work on 2012 and 2011 Panasonic HDTV's but there is no word of a release date. No one is clear on whether cable companies are finally going to make the full jump toward IPTV yet or anytime in the near future. This technology is going to be launching on more platforms later this year, and may fully remove set-top boxes.

Time Warner Cable's New iPad App Lets You Watch Live TV

Time Warner Cable subscribers can now watch live TV on their iPad from anywhere in their home using their WiFi network for free using the new TWCable TV app. No need for extra hookups, you can instantly start streaming channels on your iPad including Time Warner Cable's HD lineup. More features will be added soon like a Remote DVR Manager and a Remote Tuner which lets you use your iPad as a remote to control live programming, Video On Demand and set your DVR when you're on the go. You also need to have Time Warner's internet services in addition to having their cable services. My hopes were high until I remembered I use AT&T as my ISP.
