JBL WR2.4 Wireless Headphones Review

JBL WR2.4 Wireless Headphones Review

JBL's first new pair of wireless headphones aren't exactly what you would expect to be a Beats Studio rival, they are however meant to be used as wireless home entertainment headphones. With a built-in rechargeable battery and an over-ear design, the WR2.4 wireless headphones can be connected to any audio source giving you the wireless freedom to roam when gaming, watching a movie or purely listening to music using a robust 2.4GHz wireless connection while keeping it quiet for those around you. And yes you heard correctly, no fancy Bluetooth 4.0 used in the making of the WR2.4. But there's a reason to this madness that anyone looking to get such particular wireless headphones will come to appreciate as an advantage over the common Bluetooth-featuring headphones - and that's compatibility and clean, lag-free audio transmission which is why most gaming headsets feature such wireless connectivity. As versatile as these may be, they do have a few shortcomings we'll be telling you about in our full review down below.

JBL Charge Portable Wireless Speaker Review

JBL Charge Portable Wireless Speaker Review

JBL's Charge sells itself as a portable wireless stereo speaker with impressive gadget-charging capabilities all rolled into one attractive and compact device. If there ever was a portable speaker that combined all-day long battery life, an ultra-fast backup battery charger with big sound in a small package - it would definitely have to be the Charge, and the Charge alone. As you might know, JBL gave us the $100 Flip late last year which at the time blew us away with its elite audio performance we called jaw droppingly powerful.

But like any good product, the Flip had its inconveniences and treble-heavy sound signature we pleaded JBL to fix and improve upon. Now that we've got our hands all over the Charge, we're going to find out if JBL did things a little differently this time around. And it also means putting the Charge up against today's leading portable speakers. Want to see who comes out on top? So do we! Our full review is just around the corner.

JBL OnBeat Venue LT Review

JBL OnBeat Venue LT Review

Following our most recent review on JBL's hardwired OnBeat Micro speaker dock comes the OnBeat Venue LT - a much larger, more powerful wireless speaker with a Lightning connector dock that's designed to work with Apple's full line of Lightning connector-equipped iDevices including the iPad mini, iPad 4, iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5. After spending an intimate time with the Flip (the best portable speaker of its stature based on our findings) as well as the OnBeat Micro, we now have a clear perception of what we can generally expect from JBL on audio performance terms. The OnBeat Venue LT is a modified and updated version of JBL's original OnBeat Venue, which supported Apple's now obsolete 30-pin Dock Connector. JBL's OnBeat Venue LT pretty much met our expectations, but it isn't without its flaws as you shall soon discover.

JBL OnBeat Micro Review

JBL OnBeat Micro Review

Apple's recent transition over to the superior Lightning connector resulted in quite a few now obsolete 30-pin dock connector accessories and frustrated early adopters. JBL faithfully beat everyone to the punch in releasing the world's first portable Lightning speaker dock. JBL's OnBeat Micro is a smallish speaker dock which features a set of powerful speakers for room-filling stereo sound, and a built-in Lightning connector that will work with the iPhone 5 as well as the iPod Touch 5. JBL took us by surprise when we reviewed its portable Flip speaker, which turned out to be astoundingly awesome. We've even considered it to be the best sounding Bluetooth portable speaker in the $100 price range. Suffice it to say the OnBeat Micro will not disappoint us in the sound department either. Catch the full review after the beat!

JBL Flip Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review

JBL Flip Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review

After our run in with JBL's Micro 2 and Micro Wireless portable speakers which put quite a few speakers of their caliber to shame, we've also secretly had our hands all over the Flip wireless Bluetooth-enabled portable loudspeaker, which is to say the reputable audio brand's $99 Jambox killer in a clean-cut suit and tie. Where the Jambox got its reputation using cutting edge styling backed by a brand that's all about deliciously colorful and updated design, JBL's Flip is more of a technical know-it-all speaker with hardcore performance to back it up. Care more about the sound and less about what Beats By Dre fanboys have to say? You know where to find our full review, on the flipside!
