G-Tech Upgrades Its G-Drive mini, G-Raid mini External Hard Drives

G-Technology has announced that it is now shipping its G-Drive mini and G-Raid mini external storage drives which for years have seen the likes of professional photographers and video editors alike, with Hitachi's new Travelstar HGST, 1TB 2.5-inch 7,200RPM hard drives. The G-Drive mini and G-Raid mini both offer USB 3.0 and FireWire 800 connectivity with no Thunderbolt support in sight, and feature an integrated heat-sink for superior cooling and silent operation. The G-Raid mini features two of the new Travelstar drives inside with a total capacity of 2TB, and can be configured in RAID 0 and RAID 1 for safe backup redundancy while being bus powered using FireWire 800.

G-Technology's G-Drive mini is available now for $200 in a 1TB capacity, while the dual-drive packing 2TB G-Raid mini is scheduled to start shipping in early Q1 for $450.
