iPhone 4 Sales Hit 1.7 Million!

There was no doubt that the iPhone 4 was going to be a huge success, but nobody expected it to be this successful. As Apple just announced that the iPhone 4 sales has just hit 1.7 Million and this is the most successful product launch in Apple's history; even better than the iPad!

Steve Jobs said: "This is the most successful product launch in Apple's history. Even so, we apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply."

The success of the iPhone 4 was probably down to the 600,000 pre-orders, as well as AT&T offering a early upgrade to US customers contract's ending in 2010. The pre-orders saw a record sales with about 6,00,000 bookings in 1 day so that made Apple run out supply and had stopped taking pre-orders.

Now the 1.7 Million is only from 5 countries (US, UK, Japan, Germany, France) and just think how well it will sell when it soon rolls out in eighteen more countries.

Apple Claims 600,000 iPhone Pre-Orders in 1 Day

Apple just released a press release announcing that there was over 600,000 iPhone pre-orders and Apple said that it was "far higher" than they expected and that was the reason for the frustration and difficulties when pre-ordering which Apple apologized for.

Earlier today, the carrier partners announced that the iPhone 4 pre-order traffic was 10x the amount of the iPhone 3GS. AT&T also said today that it had received 10x of pre-order sales on the first day compared to the 3GS.
