Sol Republic Tracks Headphones, The New Beats By Dr. Dre Hype?

We absolutely love new and innovative headphone companies that aren't afraid to place themselves in between the major players in the audio market. Sol Republic are the perfect example of a new emerging audio company with a set of headphones that aren't just well designed, but extremely well priced too. Monster is without a doubt the market leader when it comes to trendy headphones, but the Tracks headphones by Sol Republic look like they have just enough to offer as their competitors and at a more affordable price tag. Best Buy is already selling the Sol Republic Tracks headphones as of today for $99.99 and $129.99 for the Tracks HD model.

The Tracks feature what Sol Republic calls the V-8 Audio Engine and an on-ear designed ear cups which can also be totally removed off the flexible headband for ultra portableness and easier user replaceable drivers. Early adopters have already reported that the Tracks headphones sound very similar to the Beats By Dr. Dre Solo HD headphones which are double in price. Sol Republic's Tracks HD headphones are priced at $129.99 and supposedly have a slightly better audio driver called the V-10 and a brushed metal finish. Sol Republic isn't very specific about their specs, but from what we understand, they call the sound drivers of the Tracks headphones "Audio Engines" instead. Sounds better already right? The Tracks come with detachable audio cables including one with a 3-button remote and mic for headset use and music controlling.

Boost Your iPad 2's Sound With The SoundJaw

One thing Apple hates and will never do is place a speaker on the front of their portable handheld devices such as the iPhone and the iPad. The iPad 2 suffers more than any other Apple product because of its badly placed speaker. SoundJaw was created to fix the iPad 2's back firing speaker and works by redirected the sound towards you. The result is a much louder and richer sound. The slim design of the SoundJaw adds little to no bulk and clips to surround your iPad 2's speaker. If you've been redirected your iPad 2's sound with just your hand like me so you can actually hear something, it would be safe to say that we both could use a SoundJaw. $20 is going to get you one of these over at kickstarter. See the SoundJaw in action right after the jump.

Psyko's new Krypton PC gaming headset with 5.1 surround sound now replaces the discontinued Psyko 5.1 gaming headset and its set to improve on audio quality, removable mic mounting and reduce sound leakage. Paired with the new Psyko Krypton gaming headset is a Psyko Amplifier used to power and drive these huge headphones with fully adjustable bass and volume control. A neat little feature on the Kryptons allow you to easily talk with your buddies around you without having to remove the headset thanks to the side ear cup vents that pivot open and also let cool air flow in. The Krypton set will run you $149.99.

The Carbon gaming headset will set you back $199.99, and it too packs all the same features as the Krypton but adds small extras like gold plated connectors, braided tangle-free cable and more high-performance speakers. These headsets were designed specifically for gaming and pwning noobs with real 5.1 surround sound, sounds good to me. Both the Carbon and Krypton gaming headsets are available right now.
