When it comes to accessories, Apple is known for slacking around. Unsurprisingly, the new accessories made for the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus mirror last year's lineup of minimalist leather and silicone cases. But this time Apple has gone a step further with its new iPhone Lightning Dock offering, which has been revamped to feature an all-aluminum design that's a little more premium and made to perfectly compliment the new iPhones compared to its white plastic predecessor. But should you buy one only because Apple made a fancier looking charging dock and at a higher cost?

We've been reviewing wildly unique and quirky iPhone cases from SwitchEasy for the longest time. It was one of the earliest case brands to come up with some of the boldest and most inexpensive protective cases for the iPhone. Intocircuit 2nd Gen Power Castle 15000mAh Portable External Battery Review

You could always pick up a well designed external backup battery from a well known brand at some ridiculous cost, which in most cases barely has enough of a capacity to keep up with all of your gadget charging needs. Or you can take a seemingly riskier bet on an unknown external battery that offers ten times the capacity of a popular brand name battery, but at more than half the price. It'll always seem to good to be true, and in some cases it is. We're always up for testing out faster, better, higher capacity portable external batteries and this one in particular turned out to be a solid winner.

So that's why we've been hard at work testing out Intocircuit's new 2nd Gen Power Castle backup battery pack and all of its promising advertised charging prowess. It's a 15,000mAh external battery bank with dual USB charging ports that can simultaneously deliver 2.4A of charging power for quick charging of pretty much anything that charges over USB. Intriguing consider most other similarly sized batteries will only have one high-speed USB charging output while the other will only deliver a measly 1A of power. Apple iPhone Lightning Dock Review

Apple is unforgivably late to the accessory game with its new iPhone Lightning Dock it only just recently released...yet again. There are plenty of really great options available from third parties, however, none are quite as minimalist as Apple official offering. Low in profile and as compact as a functional dock can get, Apple's iPhone Lightning Dock is an upright iPhone charger equipped with a very useful audio line-out port and made from the all too familiar sleek white plastic as every other dock that came before it, only it's more versatile than ever before. Well, not exactly as versatile as some other third party alternatives.

The iPhone Lightning Dock is a universal iPhone dock that supports any iPhone or iPod touch with a Lightning connector. It's also the first dock Apple has introduced that plays nicely with protective cases and skins. It stands to reason that many hardcore Apple fans will prefer the Apple-made Lightning dock for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, but is it truly worth forking over $39 when you can get great docks like the Twelve South's HiRise or the Fuz EverDock with support for the iPhone and iPad?

Magpul Field Case for iPhone 6 / 6 Plus Review

It's not a secret by now, we absolutely love Magpul's smartphone and tablet cases. The company just dropped off their long-awaited Field Case for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, so naturally were super excited to get the opportunity to use it on Apple's slimmest iPhone ever. And if you were expecting something different this time around, more unique looking than the previous Field Case for the iPhone 5s, then preper for another round of repetition. Remarkably, Magpul has not changed the design of its Field Case since the days of the iPhone 3G. The tactical firearm accessory manufacturer is sticking to its iconic PMAG-inspired ribbed rifle magazine styling it created years ago – and we're fine with that. Because it's a design that actually serves a real purpose, and that is grip. The Field Case, which amazingly is still being made in the U.S.A, is one of the few protective iPhone cases on the market that truly focuses on providing the user with the best possible grip without any special coatings and unergonomic shapes. Shumuri SLIM Ultra-Thin iPhone 6 / 6 Plus Case Review

Ultra-slim cases for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are an increasingly popular option for those looking to add a basic layer of protection to their device without really changing its appearance and super sleek and slim form factor. We recently reviewed one of these so called ultra-thin cases called the Slight by Desmay, and found it to be a surprisingly great case for the right type of person. Shumuri's SLIM and Slim Extra cases for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus look and feel just like Desmay's Slight case apart from a few minor differences, also bill themselves as extraordinarily slim and semi-translucent cases at just 0.35mm in thickness, featuring 360-degrees worth of scratch protection with an anti-scratch matte finish. And although the SLIM and Slight both have a lot in common as far as protection and minimalist design, Shumuri's SLIM and Slim Extra cases do in fact have a few little details that make them a more appealing alternative.
