JBL Intros Splashproof Charge 2+ Portable Speaker

JBL has finally listened to our complaints about its Charge 2 portable Bluetooth speaker and its lack of outdoor durability, or at least we're going to pretend they did. And did so with the introduction of the third generation Charge model called the Charge 2 Plus, or Charge 2+ as JBL calls it. The new and improved Charge 2+ retains the same Charge 2 aesthetics, still has the same internal speaker hardware and long-lasting 12-hour battery prowess with built-in USB gadget charging capability as its "predecessor", but it now features a water-resistant design with a new redesigned orange JBL logo on the front.

The renewed JBL Charge 2+ is an ultra-powerful, ultra-big-battery portable Bluetooth speaker with high-quality stereo sound. Revamped with fresh styles and a splashproof design, the Charge 2+ takes the party everywhere – be it poolside or dancing in the rain – and amplifi es the excitement with JBL Bass Radiators.

The speaker is powered by a 6000mAh battery that provides an incredible 12 hours of playtime and can charge all your devices, like your smartphone or tablet, via USB. Charge 2+ also comes with a built-in noise and echo cancelling speakerphone so you make crystal clear calls with the press of a button. Trade off as DJs with your friends to share everyone’s favorite tunes with Social Mode by connecting up to 3 music sources to the speaker and taking turns playing music.

The Charge 2+'s more resilient outer shell will protect itself from the accidental drink spillage, rainy days and other liquid related splashing. And while it can be cleaned under running tap water, the Charge 2+ cannot be submerged under water like some other portable rivals such as the UE Megaboom. In addition to the same black, red, and blue colors of the original Charge 2 model, the Charge 2+ is also available in a wider variety of colors like gray, mint green, yellow, orange, and pink. JBL's Charge 2+ comes in at the same $150 price tag as the Charge 2, which is safe to say will be replaced by this splashproof model very soon.
