iMacompanion Introduces A Front-Facing USB Port On iMacs

Don’t you hate it when you need to plug in something into one of the USB ports inconveniently placed around the back of your iMac? Well, there’s a simple fix for your USB port plugging problem. iMacompanion is a sturdy USB extension port that sits at the front of your iMac’s pedestal base, giving you a much more convenient and hassle-free USB port experience at all times. It’s also designed to naturally compliment your iMac with its silver, sandblasted anodized aluminum construction and clean aesthetic.

The iMacompanion USB port uses an incredibly thin flat cable which is hidden from plain sight and is routed underneath the base of the iMac so it looks as if it were a built-in feature. What isn’t so impressive is that fact that at this point and time, the iMacompanion is still a USB 2.0 due to certain limitations with regard to its ultra-thin cable design. If that doesn’t bother you though, you can pre-order yours right now and help fund this product on Kickstarter for $29.

iDentity Faceplate Gives Your iMac A Colorful New Look

Own an iMac? That's great, but the one thing it lacks is a touch of personality. We use cases and skins to modify the way our iPhones look, so why not do the same on a much bigger scale? Cue iDentity, the first accessory of its kind to add a unique color to the face of your iMac using a svelte anodized aluminum faceplate which is designed to magnetically adhere to the bottom of an iMac also known as the "chin" - as it fully covers any evidence of its silverly aluminum facade minus the neat egg-shaped Apple logo cutout. No plastic skins here to ruin the brilliant fine finish and premium quality of your desktop machine.

The idea behind iDentity is so simple, yet so brilliant. And because iDentity essentially replaces the iMac's aluminum colored face, all of the six vibrant colors it comes in flawlessly compliment the iMac's black display bezel. In order to closely match the quality of surface finish found on the iMac, the iDentity's aluminum is bead-blasted to a smooth, refined finish. Being an iMac user myself, this is one of the very few Kickstarter products I seriously considered backing. Initial pricing start at $35 for a 21.5-inc iMac iDentity faceplate, and $45 for a 27-inch iMac iDentity faceplate in your choice of color. Catch the video after the break.
