LifeProof Outs Nuud Waterproof Screenless iPhone 5 Case

LifeProof is back in action, and this time the company has come up with an ingenious way of getting rid of the integrated plastic screen shield that has plagued its previous iPhone cases with all sorts of issues. The new Nuud case for the iPhone 5 is a hybrid of LifeProof's Nuud case for the iPad and the Fre case for the iPhone 5. As a result, the Nuud case for the iPhone 5 features a sleek and slim profile designed to provide water and drop-protection including a new watertight "screenless" periphery allowing you to touch the bare glass of the iPhone 5 for the optimal touchscreen experience. LifeProof says that while the Nuud exposes the iPhone's glass screen, the case is designed to protect it against drops using a raised edge that surrounds the screen keeping it recessed.

The Nuud for the iPhone 5 may very well be the must-have waterproof case thanks to its good looking slim protective profile, all-clear backside and screenless design. But we'll be sure to put the Nuud to the test when we get our hands on it soon. While the Nuud isn't yet available, we know that it'll initially be available in black and white for $90 - $10 more than the Fre. As of now, Best Buy is the only place where you can secure a pre-order of the new Nuud iPhone 5 case in white only

Griffin Teams Up With Catalyst, Outs Waterproof Survivor iPhone 5 Case

Remember the EscapeCapsul waterproof case by a company called Catalyst we reported about long ago? Probably not. Well, as it turns out Griffin decided against developing its own in-house waterproof case, that it would be a fun time joining forces with Catalyst to introduce a new waterproof Survivor case for the iPhone 5. Like the iPhone 4 version, Griffin's Survivor + Catalyst waterproof case is unique thanks to its translucent design and colorful elements. We're big fans of the standard Survivor case for Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod touch so naturally we're excited to see Griffin introduce a co-developed and fully functional waterproof iPhone 5 case that promises to be the easiest to use and submersible down to 10 feet -  yet good enough to be used as a daily driver.

Griffin's tough, drop and water-protective Survivor waterproof case for the iPhone 5 features shock-absorbing interior TPU bumpers, a rigid clear polycarbonate shell and it also includes a wrist lanyard. It'll come in four colors for $80 when it becomes available at the end of January.

Take Your iPhone Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea

Underwater photography is starting to be the "cool" thing to do now and while most people don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars for a GoPro, wrapping your brand new iPhone 5 in a Ziplock bag and praying doesn't sound like a great idea either. In comes the Seashell. The Seashell SS-i5 is the perfect iPhone underwater case that protects your precious iPhone 5 from up to 40 meters (yeah, sorry about the misleading title) of water that is as cold as -10 degrees Celsius.

The SS-i5 features its own high quality design and casing to ensure clear photos and videos and also allows for responsive touch operation in the water. Most people don't go out diving in Arctic-like waters but trips to the lake or the water park would be perfect for the SS-i5. Slap it onto your iPhone 5 and you'll be well on your way to creating your very own video documentary of your kid frolicking in the pool. Check them out for yourself and head over to their resellers according to your country of residence.

Incipio Atlas, The Next Level of iPhone 5 Waterproof Cases

Look out LifeProof, Incipio is looking to bring you down under with its new waterproof case for the iPhone 5. The Atlas case is Incipio's first ever ultra-sleek, ultra-modern and ultra-rugged waterproof case designed with a co-molded Plextonium frame, a shock absorbing silicone inner layer and best of all - a built-in tempered glass front screen shield for smooth capacitive touchscreen butteryness response. The Atlas seems like a very appealing LifeProof alternative, if not a better choice. It's of course dust, dirt, drop, shock and water-proof and offers unhindered access to all ports and buttons including the iPhone 5's rear facing camera and LED flash.

You'll be saddened to know that Inicpio's Atlas case is still under wraps and we may never know when it'll get released. Though we do have a hunch it'll be soon. And when it will, the Atlas will come in a verity of colors with an $80 price tag.
