White iPhone 4 at Walmart?

 

Well this is a surprise. As walmart.com is showing that they have the 16Gb iPhone 4 in white! And what's more, they are saying that it is "available for in store." Could be something to get our hopes up or could the iPhone 4 be in white at Walmart on June 24th?

Just now, Apple released iOS4 for the iPhone and iPod touch and here are the best apps that are optimized for iOS4 (I will update more as more are uploaded to the app store):

• Dropbox: The file-syncing app can now sync and complete uploads in the background, and also adds in support for fast app switching.
• Evernote: The notes-in-the-cloud app supports fast app switching, and can continue to record audio notes in the background.
• Pandora: Yes, you can finally play Pandora in the background and the quick music controls on the left-most panel of the app switcher even control playback when it's in the background. Nifty.
• New York Times: Nothing major, but supports fast app switching.
• ESPN ScoreCenter: Supports fast app switching.
• How to Cook Everything: Supports fast app switching, so you don't have to reload a recipe every time you close the app and new high-res art for the iPhone 4. 
• Fandango: Now has fast app switching.
• LinkedIn: Adds fast app switching.
• Tweetaholic: Supports fast app switching, and can also refresh your timeline in the background.
• Ego: This stats app can tell you everything from how many Twitter followers you have to how many people have subscribed to your site's RSS feeds all in the background.
• National Rail: Britain's National Rail app now supports fast app switching. 
• Ambiance: This "environment enhancer" supports now the ability to play ambient audio, like thunderstorms, in the background.
• Plants Vs Zombies: Now supports multi-tasking and fast app switching.

• iBooks: It wasn't just third party apps available with iOS4, the iBooks app for the iPhone was just released on the app store as well. It syncs page number, bookmarks, and notes between the iPhone and iPad. 
• Windows Messenger: A new app and it comes out with iOS4 integration built-in. It also supports alerts for Hotmail as well, so you’ll get notifications in-app when you receive new e-mails via your Hotmail account. 
• Loopt: Supports fast app switching, PNS alerts, and grid based navigation.
• WordPress: Claims Retina Display support and fast app switching.

• TuneIn Radio: Now supports background audio, and support fast app switching.
• Facebook: Updated to watch videos, 720p picture uploads, and the ability to view and write on walls of events. No fast-app switching though.
• Rockz: One of the first games to have iOS 4 support.
• Colloquy: Updated for iOS 4 as it keeps your IRC session open in the background and has 10 minute task completion timer, and when it runs out it disconnects. Also has fast-app switching.
• Tasker: Now has locak push notifications for scheduled tasks and keeps locates your position in the background to alert you of nearby tasks. Also there is retina display support.
• Pianist: Has high-res textures for the Retina Display

The latest software for the iDevice's from Apple is now available for download. Now the main features of the new software is multi-tasking, folders, unified inboxes, iAds and further enterprise support. This update is free for the iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPod Touch 2G and 3G however the iPad version is going to be available later this year. Now it's free so go download it NOW!

iPhone 4 Pre-Orders Shipping

STOP!! Before you get to excited about your pre-ordered iPhone it probably won't come until the day of launch, that's if you iPhone order hasn't been cancelled. However, some orders are saying "delviers by June 23rd" so you might get your iPhone a day earlier but I'd take this with a grain of salt as Apple usually prolongs the shipping times until the big launch date.

iPhone 4 to Have 512Mb of RAM

 

Apple has always been secretive about revealing the CPU and RAM specs on previous iPhones. We only found out that the iPhone 2G and 3G both had 128Mb of RAM when people took them apart and it was likewise with the 3GS and iPad which both have had 256Mb of RAM. Now many suspected the iPhone 4 to have the same 256Mb of RAM but Macrumours is reporting that the iPhone 4 will have 512Mb of RAM, double the iPhone 3GS and the iPad! Now this figure has also been confirmed by Engadget's sources. The processor speed in the new iPhone will match the one in the iPad but the iPhone will have double the memory, and this will help when using apps like iMovie.

iPhone 4 Now Shipping on July 14th

Wow. In only 24 hours, the iPhone 4 pre-orders went crazy and crashing apple's servers and now there has been so much demand for the new iPhone, the shipping date now is July 14th! This is the second time Apple has pushed back it's shipping date for the iPhone 4 in 18 hours! So if Apple sold 600,000 iPhones yesterday, it should be good to see how many Apple actually sell in a months time.
