ModulR Announces Sleeker Modular iPad 2 Case

ModulR has announced a new version of their very interesting and functional modular hardshell case for the iPad 2 which will be available early this summer. I loved the first generation ModulR case for the first gen iPad, although it did need some tweaking and hopefully the iPad 2 version will be outstanding. The new ModulR case for the iPad 2 looks much sleeker and is fully compatible with the Smart Cover. Last year the ModulR case debuted its case with a front hard screen cover protector, this time the new iPad 2 ModulR case will include an adjustable Hand Strap for a better grip of your slender iPad 2.

The ModulR hardshell case for the iPad 2 will be compatible with various ModulR accessories such as the $29.99 iPad 2 Cover Stand - ModulR's take on Apple's Smart Cover, Shoulder Strap ProCar Headrest StrapSlim Wall Mount, Fridge Mount - All priced at $19.99, respectively. The ModulR iPad 2 Case + Hand Strap will be available in white, black and clear $$39.99.

Incase Cases And iPad 2, Don't Buy

You may already know some of Incase's iPad cases made for the original iPad and sure, some of them are pretty good. Just a few days after the iPad 2 got released into the public, Incase opened up an iPad 2 product page with some of their current cases that were originally made for the thicker first generation iPad and dubbed them, iPad 2 compatible. No. There is no reason why you should pay so much money for these cases that were not even designed to exclusively fit the iPad 2. They may in fact work but they are not in any way designed for the iPad 2. If you like Incase's iPad cases, then you should wait to see if they ever tailor-make their cases to exactly fir the thinner dimensions of the new iPad 2. It's a shame Incase are rushing out to bank on new iPad 2 buyers this way.

iPad 2 Leather Case Gets The Hands-On Treatment

Chinese case manufacturers may or may not know the exact dimensions of the upcoming Apple iPad. This video shows a leather case made for the iPad 2 and features a camera cutout. The annotations in the video state that this leather case doesn't fit the current iPad because the iPad 2 has a thinner bezel and a thinner overall design. You gotta love that BumbleBee Tuna song.
