Microsoft Allegedly Releasing Office For iOS

As reported a couple months ago by The Daily of a screenshot of Microsoft Office running on the iPad, follow-up rumors have pointed towards a possibility of such a release sometime in November. Sources have claimed to see the software operating on iOS firsthand. There have also been hints at Office for the Android platform as well.

While Microsoft have yet to publicly address this rumor, The Daily has strong claims to this being factual, stating that they have seen and operated a prototype. The benefits of having Microsoft Office on the iPad however, would be beneficial for many of its users considering the overall compatibility issues with Microsoft and Mac users.

Will iPhone 4 Cases Fit The iPhone 4S Too? Yes!

The answer is plain and simple, yes. All current iPhone 4 cases, sleeves, speaker docks and other accessories of the sorts will indeed fit and be fully compatible with the latest iPhone 4S. Be sure to check out our Gadget Hub for some iPhone 4 and 4S case reviews and guides!

Update: Correction, all iPhone 4 cases that are Verizon and AT&T compatible will fit the iPhone 4S as well. Both the Verizon iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S have a silent switch that is designed just a few millimeters towards the top and that has caused cases to have a slight longer cutout for the side volume buttons and silent switch. Most if not all iPhone 4 cases are now compatible with the iPhone 4S.

Bose SoundLink Portable Speaker Streams Your Tunes Wirelessly

Bose just went all fancy pants on us with its newly released SoundLink portable speaker that can stream your music wirelessly over Bluetooth supporting the A2DP profile. Looks like Bose fell in love with Apple's Smart Cover idea and decides to incorporate a very similar idea into the SoundLink with fancy colored leather speaker covers that magnetically attach to the front face keeping the speaker protected while in transport and can turn the SoundLink speaker on and off while at the same time also serve as the device's stand when flipped underneath. How very neat. Bose's aluminum finished SoundLink portable speaker is so fancy it will set you back a cool $300. And that's only for the SoundLink with a nylon cover. Thinking about a more luxurious leather cover? That will be an additional $50.

There is a bit of audio magic behind the SoundLink's hood though. Bose's very own proprietary slim speakers deliver powerful sound using 2 dual-opposing passive radiators that promise deep lows and clear detailed sound quality. A built-in user replaceable, rechargeable battery should last up to 8 hours with the option to use the supplied wall adapter. It'll work with any Bluetooth device out there supporting the A2DP Bluetooth profile while also boasting an Auxiliary back input. The SoundLink portable speaker is available now with additional covers to be sold separately as well. Jawbone's Jambox is in for some steep competition.

Iomega has released the ultimate desktop hard drive for Mac users called the Mac Companion, the first hard drive to feature a high-powered USB port you can use to charge up that power hungry iPad of yours. You would think Iomega would somehow add a Thunderbolt port to the drive, but instead, the Mac Companion desktop hard drive packs two FireWire 800 and a pair of USB ports that act as a USB hub for your other gadgets. Iomega's Mac Companion is available in a few different flavor capacities including a 2TB 7200RPM version for $195 as well as a massive 3TB 7200RPM version running for $295. Smartsnap Connects Smart Cover To First Gen iPad

We've seen a few DIY mods before like this one, which didn't look all too sleek and low-profile as Smartfix's Smartsnap. The $20 Smartsnap is a connection kit for the first gen iPad allowing you to use Apple's Smart Cover. The thing is though, the first gen iPad does not have the iPad 2's sleep/wake magnetic functionality because it does not have any built-in sensor magnets. The good news is that the Smartsnap is a low-profile magnetic strip that sticks to the side of your first gen iPad and perfectly aligns the Smart Cover. There is very limited information as whether the Smartsnap also adds a magnetic strip to keep the Smart Cover closed onto the first gen iPad. If you're interested, head on over to Smartfix's website for more.

HP Announces First WiFi Mobile Mouse

While HP's latest WiFi connected wireless mouse isn't going to win any design awards anytime soon, it's the world's first WiFi wireless mouse with an impressive 9-month battery life. No other wireless mouse currently on the market comes even close to this. HP claims it's an easy one-time pairing process on Windows 7 while Mac users will have to settle for their Magic Mouse instead. HP claims that in order to pair over WiFi, a PC running Windows 7 is required. If you're a Mac user, there is nothing here to keep you interested anyway. The 1600cpi laser sensor and 5 programmable buttons are still very basic. The HP WiFi Mobile Mouse will be available in June for $49.99. I think I'll stick with my Razer mice for now.
