Will iPhone 4 Cases Fit The iPhone 4S Too? Yes!

The answer is plain and simple, yes. All current iPhone 4 cases, sleeves, speaker docks and other accessories of the sorts will indeed fit and be fully compatible with the latest iPhone 4S. Be sure to check out our Gadget Hub for some iPhone 4 and 4S case reviews and guides!

Update: Correction, all iPhone 4 cases that are Verizon and AT&T compatible will fit the iPhone 4S as well. Both the Verizon iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S have a silent switch that is designed just a few millimeters towards the top and that has caused cases to have a slight longer cutout for the side volume buttons and silent switch. Most if not all iPhone 4 cases are now compatible with the iPhone 4S.

How-To: Re-Download OS X Lion Even After You've Installed It

Like many of you, I purchased OS X Lion to upgrade from Snow Leopard. What many didn't know after downloading their fresh copy of OS X Lion via the Mac App Store was that after you've finished installing OS X Lion, the installation file (.dmg) automatically deletes itself from your hard drive so you can no longer access it to quickly re-install and save it on an external storage like a DVD or even a USB flash drive for a clean install, or just for safe keeping. Apple is said to start offering a hard copy of OS X Lion on a USB flash drive for $69, but that's not what we're here for. If you want a hard copy of your $30 OS X Lion you just downloaded, here's a quick and easy way to re-download OS X Lion straight from the Mac App Store.

Follow these steps:

1. Open up the Mac App Store

2. Hold down the "option" key on your keyboard, while still holding, click your "Purchases" tab.

3. You should now be able to click "Install" next to OS X Lion.

You will be asked to type in your Apple ID account information, and the downloading will start. You will not be charged again since you already purchased OS X Lion. After OS X Lion has finished downloading, do not install it and exit the installation window. Now you'll be able to burn a copy of the Lion Installer which should now be located in your Applications folder.

To access the bootable file inside the Lion Installer you would need to right click it, and select "show package contents". Then, go to the "SharedSupport" folder and there you will have the final file that you would need to burn called "InstallESD.dmg" with Disk Utility. Hopefully this method will help you until Apple finds out about this backdoor.

Transform Your iPad 2 Into Your Very Own MacBook Air

Well not really, but you get the idea. This Aluminum KeyBoard Buddy case for the iPad 2 will add a slim, black chiclet style keyboard incased inside an aluminum shell that will perfectly match your iPad 2 to create a one-of-a-kind MacBook Air-like work pad that runs iOS. Wonderful, isn't it? For $49.90, the Bluetooth enabled Aluminum KeyBoard Buddy keyboard case features a full-sized keyboard boasting a built-in, USB rechargeable battery that is said to last several weeks on a single charge. It's slim, eye catching and it won't put a dent in your bank. Too bad it doesn't have backlit keys though.

The other little drawback to this keyboard case is that it doesn't have a hinged design like other keyboard cases for the iPad 2 such as the ClamCase. Head on over to M.I.C Gadget for the full review of the Aluminum KeyBoard Buddy. Catch the video right after the jump!

Otterbox Acknowledges White iPhone 4 Form Factor Changes

If you were following the news around Apple's newly released white iPhone 4, you would already know that the white iPhone 4 is slightly thicker than it's older black brother, 0.2mm ticker to be precise. Now that's not such a big deal, however very tight fitting hard plastic cases would most likely not fit the new white iPhone 4 as of right now. Otterbox has already put up a message on each of the iPhone 4 case product pages acknowledging the difference in the from factors and saying that their Defender Series, Commuter Series and Impact Series of cases will not work with the white iPhone 4.

Otterbox's Impact Series case is made out of 100% silicone unlike Otterbox's more tougher cases which employ both hard plastic and silicone. It's not clear why Otterbox deemed their silicone Impact Series case for the iPhone 4 to be incompatible with the white iPhone 4 at this time. The slight change in thickness of just 0.2mm in the white iPhone 4 shouldn't hinder silicone cases incompatible so if you're really in need of a tough silicone case for your brand new white iPhone 4, you should not need to worry about silicone cases.

iPhone 5 Smart Covers

Ever since Apple released the Smart Covers for the iPad 2, people already speculated similar covers for the iPhone 5 will replace the current Bumper cases for the iPhone 4. Apple is expected to release the iPhone 5 with a similar aluminum back as found on the iPad 2, and as we learned from Apple's iPad 2 keynote, they worked so hard to design a beautiful looking device that they did not want to cover it all up. Will we see a new breed of Smart Covers for the iPhone 5? It's definitely a possibility. Apple will want to wow customers with new and exciting accessories for the iPhone 5 and I don't think we will see the famous Bumper case sticking around once the iPhone 5 is released. Those Smart Covers above are just an idea of how they will look on the iPhone 5. I digg them already.
