iPhone 5 Smart Covers

Ever since Apple released the Smart Covers for the iPad 2, people already speculated similar covers for the iPhone 5 will replace the current Bumper cases for the iPhone 4. Apple is expected to release the iPhone 5 with a similar aluminum back as found on the iPad 2, and as we learned from Apple's iPad 2 keynote, they worked so hard to design a beautiful looking device that they did not want to cover it all up. Will we see a new breed of Smart Covers for the iPhone 5? It's definitely a possibility. Apple will want to wow customers with new and exciting accessories for the iPhone 5 and I don't think we will see the famous Bumper case sticking around once the iPhone 5 is released. Those Smart Covers above are just an idea of how they will look on the iPhone 5. I digg them already.

Apple's New Smart Covers For iPad 2

All new iPad, all new cases. Apple's iPad 2 brought an array of new colored cases this year opposed to the boring black iPad Case Apple released with the first iPad. The new Smart Covers by Apple are a totally new and unique way of how we look at cases for the iPad. The new Smart Covers provide even less protection than the older black iPad Case because of how they work. The Smart Covers are not really cases but covers for the front screen of the iPad 2 but they also double as a stand for typing and viewing movies. They work on magnets and attach to the iPad 2's screen quickly and easily. Not only do these Smart Covers protect your iPad 2's screen, they clean it as well because of the microfiber lining.

So basically what you're getting using a Smart Cover is screen protection and no back protection. You do however get the ability to flip back the Smart Cover to immediately have a keyboard and FaceTime video stand. To see how this all works out, check out the Smart Cover page. In addition to all this colorfulness we've seen with the Bumper cases for the iPhone 4, the iPad 2 will automatically lock and go to sleep once it's covered by the Smart Cover and will instantly come back to life once you remove it. It's pretty genius.

Apple did it again with perfect accessories for the iPad 2. You can choose from 10 total colors, 5 being made out of polyurethane (same as the original black iPad Case) and surprisingly enough, 5 leather colors. The poly Smart Covers are priced at $39 while the leather ones will set you back $69. Those are pretty pricey.

Element Case Intros Vapor Pro Limited Edition iPhone 4 Case

The aluminum case that started it all, the Vapor by Element Case for the iPhone 4 has been a huge success with many new companies emerging to create their unique or in other cases not so unique, version of an aluminum case for the iPhone 4. Element Case has just released a new Vapor case called the Vapor Pro. It's now available in a Limited Edition, sand blasted tactical color. The new and improved Vapor Pro remains mostly constructed out of aluminum with a few improvements made to reduce, if not eliminate any signal interference caused by incasing the iPhone 4's antenna band with solid aluminum. The Vapor name bears a hefty price tag and the Vapor Pro Limited Edition case will run you $149.99.

Clear Glass Back Cover For iPhone 4 Now Available

A few week ago I posted about an iPhone 4 modded with clear back and front glass covers but the problem was you had to use a paint thinner or some other way to scrub off the original black paint off of your iPhone 4's original part. That isn't something you would want to do surely. A company called Sw-Box now sells these clear back glass covers for the iPhone 4 for $18.75 a piece. That's not a bad price at all. Sw-Box claims their clear back glass covers for the iPhone 4 have metal mounting tabs just like the original iPhone 4 glass cover to screw in the bottom two screws and should perfectly fit your iPhone 4. And I thought these will show up on eBay first.

WALdok, Wall Plug-In Speaker Dock

Not to be confused with Waldo, the WALdok comes to us from Kickstarter and it's a small form-factor speaker dock for the iPhone 3G/S, iPhone 4 and iPod nano, Classic and Touch that plugs directly into your wall outlet providing power to the WALdok while also charging your iPhone or iPod. Not only will you be able to plug the WALdok directly into a wall outlet, its got an internal rechargeable battery allowing it to become a desk speaker. You're not going to get surround sound using this little speaker but it's a pretty nice little gadget. If you want to pre-order one of these, you know the Kickstarter drill by now. You can pre-order one for $59 and help fund the WALdok on Kickstarter. Head over to WALdok's Kickstarter page for all the details and even more images.
