iSkin's first aluminum case isn't what we would call a true aluminum case, but it's close and looks fancy enough. iSkin's new Aura case for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S is a dock-friendly, back snap-on thin and slim case with a brushed aluminum back plate. The Aura case is also designed to virtually fit any 3rd party accessory and comes in Silver with a white band, Graphite with a black band and Navy with a black band for $39.99.
Coolous was thinking outside the box when it designed these Alien cases for the iPhone 4 that have an alien-like back design that may or may not have strong inspiration taken from Alienware, the guys behind those powerful gaming PCs. Actually, that was the first thing that came to mind when I saw these cases. Coolous' Alien cases feature a hybrid design made up from an external, hard colored polycarbonate shell for impact protection coupled with a flexible, TPU inner layer for shock absorption. The Alien cases are expected to sell for $35. Paul would really appreciate these.
iSkin loves to leak a little of their hot new products just before they get released on their website. This time we've found out about iSkin's latest upcoming cases for the iPad 2 including the Vu case we've reviewed for the first gen iPad. The Vu for the iPad 2 now boasts a built-in kickstand for vertical and horizontal viewing. The iPad 2 version of the Vu case hasn't changed much in its construction and still features a semi-clear two-tone color scheme with soft, flexible TPU materials combines with hard polycarbonate.
For those of you with an Apple Smart Cover, iSkin will release a Smart Cover compatible case called the Solo Smart. The Solo Smart case is designed with similar materials as the Vu case for the iPad and iPad 2, but takes on a different shape and design combining soft, flexible TPU with hard polycrbonate for extra back protection. The Solo Smart case for the iPad 2 will be available for $50 while the Vu case for the iPad 2 will be available for $60. It's safe to assume that iSkin will make both cases available very soon in various colors.
Update: iSkin has announced that the Vu and Solo Smart cases will be available later this month.
Case-Mate has released their Tough hybrid case providing a dual layer protection for both the HTC Incredible S and the Verizon iPhone 4. The Tough case is consisted of a hard ABS plastic outer shell and a soft silicone inner layer built to withstand drops and accidental falls from your clumsy hands. You can pick up a Tough case for the Verizon iPhone 4 in three colors for $34.99 while HTC Incredible S users have just the choice of a black color at this time, but will enjoy a slightly cheaper price tag of $29.99. It's a win win.
Oh yes, good looks are going to cost you a pretty penny these days and Atomic's new Diamondback aluminun hybrid case for the Verizon and AT&T iPhone 4 is the most expensive aluminum case for the iPhone 4 yet. The Diamondback is a full bodied case and not a bumper this time like Atomic's other offerings. The multi-dimensional back design is made using a CNC machine with a dedicated sleep/wake button which is shaped like a diamond, hence the name. It's available in 4 different colors for a whopping $200. If you've got the cash, expect the Diamondback to start shipping in about 2-4 weeks.
SwitchEasy's most popular iPhone case, the CapsuleRebel, is now available for the Verizon iPhone 4 in 10 eye-catching colors. The CapsuleRebel case is a hybrid composed of two parts, a semi-soft flexible inner layer with a hard polycarbonate UltraFrame outer spine. You can purchase the CapsuleRebel right now for $27.99.
Pinlo introduces their first aluminum bumper case compatible with both the AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4. The United Aluminum Bumper is a hybrid type and consists of two parts, one part aluminum and one part PC plastic. Pinlo did not mention anything about signal but in theory this design shouldn't affect the iPhone 4's signal strength. The United aluminum bumper is available now in five colors for $31.95.
