Case-Mate's rPET iPhone Cases Are Recycled Plastic Bottles

In efforts to make the world slightly better, Case-Mate has introduced its new rPET ultra-slim hard shell cases for the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. The rPET cases are made from 100% recycled PET plastic bottles and have a shiny translucent finish. Case-Mate claims its rPET cases are each made up from one PET water bottle and are impact resistant. The rPET cases are available now in an array of vibrant colors for $30.

The Tank iPhone 4S Case, One Mean Ugly Rugged Case (Video)

Case-Mate's latest tough case might be one of the most ugliest cases you've come across, but at least it's one of the most toughest iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 cases Case-Mate has ever made that meets and exceeds military specs. It's called the Tank, seems only fitting for such a case. Yes but what's different about this one that Griffin's Survivor case doesn't have? The Tank case was designed to have a unique retractable screen that shields and fully protects the iPhone's glass screen against impacts, cracking and condensation. The Tank's exterior is made up from a hard, shatter-resistant polycarbonate shell coated with a rubber soft-touch grippy coating and a soft silicone core for more than just drop protection.

Sounds like a winning hybrid combination that can take a beating like a punching bag. Case-mate says the Tank's hard polycarbonate exterior shell is 2.5 times more shatter resistant than similar tough cases meeting military specs. Case-Mate's most protective case can be had for $60 of your cold hard cash and comes in black and pink. Video after the break!

Case-Mate Teases With iPhone 5 Cases

We previously reported that Case-Mate had put up a notification page letting its customers know that it'll have iPhone 5 cases ready as soon as the iPhone 5 will be released. Case-Mate has recently released its renders for its iPhone 5 cases and how they will look like on the radically redesigned iPhone 5. Is Case-Mate really desperate for some free coverage or does it really have reliable inside information as to the specific design and dimensions of the iPhone 5? Investing time and money in designing these iPhone 5 cases sure does look like Case-Mate actually have concrete information. From these iPhone 5 renders, it looks like the back side is designed similarly to the iPad 2 using aluminum. Case-Mate has since removed its iPhone 5 cases page. Rumors point out to an early October release of the much anticipated iPhone 5.

Case-Mate Starts Planning For iPhone 5 Cases

Case-Mate is quick to jump on incasing your brand spanking new iPhone 5 as soon as you get your hands on one. Case-Mate sounds overly confident on saying that it will be ready to offer cases for the yet to be released and unannounced iPhone 5 as soon as it's released. However, this doesn't surprise us all that much since we've seen other case manufacturers that got some inside info on the exact dimensions of what then was the unreleased iPhone 4 and iPad 2.
Will Case-Mate really deliver on its promise? Or is all of this just their way of hyping you up so that you'll sign up and hand them your email address? It's hard to say at the moment. If these leaked iPhone 5 cases hold any truth, than you'll know for sure that your iPhone 5 will be protected as soon as you get it.

Case-Mate's Titanium iPhone 4 Bumper Costs $300, Really?

Just when I thought iPhone 4 cases couldn't get any pricier, Case-Mate has announced a new premium metal version of their aluminum Jett bumper case that's reasonably priced at $49.99, called the Titanium. It should really be called the Titanium Jett. As the name implies, this premium metal bumper case for the iPhone 4 is entirely made out of a solid piece of titanium slab. So what else is new you say? Absolutely nothing. Case-Mate will charge you a whopping $300 for the titanium version of their aluminum Jett bumper case compatible with both the AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4. Why should Case-Mate charge such a premium when there are bumper cases that are also made entirely out of titanium and cost considerably less. Titanium may be more expensive than aluminum, however I don't think you will notice any difference except for more weight added to your iPhone 4. $300 is getting ridiculous for an iPhone 4 bumper.

Those of you who enjoy such expensive metals will be glad to know that the Case-Mate Titanium bumper case will be available to order on June 27. Meanwhile, check out the overview and installation videos on the Titanium after the jump!
