The Tank iPhone 4S Case, One Mean Ugly Rugged Case (Video)

Case-Mate's latest tough case might be one of the most ugliest cases you've come across, but at least it's one of the most toughest iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 cases Case-Mate has ever made that meets and exceeds military specs. It's called the Tank, seems only fitting for such a case. Yes but what's different about this one that Griffin's Survivor case doesn't have? The Tank case was designed to have a unique retractable screen that shields and fully protects the iPhone's glass screen against impacts, cracking and condensation. The Tank's exterior is made up from a hard, shatter-resistant polycarbonate shell coated with a rubber soft-touch grippy coating and a soft silicone core for more than just drop protection.

Sounds like a winning hybrid combination that can take a beating like a punching bag. Case-mate says the Tank's hard polycarbonate exterior shell is 2.5 times more shatter resistant than similar tough cases meeting military specs. Case-Mate's most protective case can be had for $60 of your cold hard cash and comes in black and pink. Video after the break!

Amazon Kindle Touch Loses Keyboard, Adds Touchscreen At $99

After Amazon's press event today in New York and the release of its first Android tablet the Kindle Fire, Amazon has refreshed the Kindle yet again with the new Kindle Touch priced at just $99 with Amazon's Special Offers ads, and $139 without. The Kindle Touch loses the physical keyboard for an on-screen virtual touch keyboard and an even sleeker design with an aluminum back. The same 6" touchscreen remains to be E Ink display that's also multi-touch. The now older 6" Kindle will be called the Kindle Keyboard and is priced at $99 as well.

Amazon's Kindle Touch comes in a WiFi-only version as well as a WiFi and 3G version priced at $149. Both models are now available for pre-order and will start shipping on November 21.

Apple To Release White iPod Touch 5G?

We've got our white and black iPhone 4s and iPad 2s, but where is our white iPod Touch?! Thankfully, we've got some hope with a brand new leak of what looks to be a white iPod Touch front screen panel that iFixit has leaked. September is fast approaching and that's generally the month when Apple refreshed the iPod line. At this point we don't know if Apple will announce a brand new and redesigned iPod Touch 5G, or only add a white model to the current lineup.

Microsoft Debuts Explorer Touch Mouse

Microsoft has just announced the Explorer Touch Mouse, the newest addition to Microsoft's growing wireless touch-enabled mice line. The Explorer Touch Mouse features a touch strip with both vertical and horizontal navigation as well as touch scrolling. Other features like 5 customizable buttons, BlueTrack blue laser sensor for tracking on virtually any surface and an impressive 18-month battery life are all packed into the sleekest, ambidextrous body a mouse has ever seen. The good news is that the Explorer Touch Mouse is both PC and Mac compatible - even OS X Lion. The bad news is that it isn't Bluetooth enabled, rather RF dongle enabled. It will be available in September for $49.95 in black and blue.

This Case Makes Your iPod Touch 4G Look Like An iPhone 4

Kickstarter brings us a lot of new and wacky ideas that come to life after they've been funded by the community of so called backers. Although the Cookiecase Touch is a premium case for the iPod Touch 4G, it isn't described as an iPhone 4 look-alike case but who are you kidding? It looks exactly like an iPhone 4 and it even sports an anodized outer aluminum band. The Cookiecase Touch case is a mere prototype as of now, however if you want to own your very own Cookiecase Touch you can start backing Cookiecase on Kickstarter for $35.

HP Slate Officially Selling For $799

Yes that's right the HP Slate is official and will indeed be ready to be purchased by your hard earned cash for $799. At this price point it's a bit hard to forget about Apple's iPad but HP's Slate has a full fledged Windows 7 professional operating system on it with touch interface that you can use with your finger as well as a stylus. Engadget has posted their first impressions with the HP Slate and will have a review up very soon.

The Slate packs an 8.9" capacitive touch display at a 1024x600 resolution and it's powered by a 1.86GHz Intel Atom Z540 processor, 2GB of RAM, 64GB SSD and Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator for smooth 1080p video playback. The back of the Slate has a soft touch coating and designed to provide good grip while it's surrounded by a metal bezel which might remind you of the iPad. For $799 you're also going to get a docking station that acts as a stand for the Slate with a built-in HDMI-out port and two cameras including a front facing VGA camera and a back facing camera with 3MP.

Sounds pretty good but that price is a bit pricy. Head over to Engadget for more!
