Interactive Creature Case For iPhone And iPod Touch Might Scare Your Kids

This is one of those iPhone cases that make you ask yourself "WTF is that thing?". This creature of a case is not so ironically called the Creature Case, and it's an interactive case made for the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G and 5G that is made from silicone and has 21 squid-like nodes that act as shock absorbers as well as let you attach the included 9 different types of bits called limbs which transform the Creature Case into a playful toy. The attachable limbs also act as a support stand for the iOS device. Although the Creature Case was designed to fit the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, a cleaver insert layer can adapt the Creature Case to older iPhone and iPod Touch models and even as far as future iPhones. Because a perfect snug fit doesn't really bother your kids right?
What makes the Creature Case come to life as a small, cute mutated creature is the Creature Feature app that allows you to add and animate facial features. Either your kids will love the Creature Case, or have nightmares from it. You can pre-order the Creature Case in green, blue and pink for $25 over at Kickstarter. Be sure to catch the video right after the cut! Thanks for the tip, Chelsea!

Purported iPhone 5 Case VS. iPhone 4, Big Difference

As we reported in these past few weeks of new cases suggesting a drastically redesigned iPhone 5, more details have now surfaced showing exactly how big of a change there is between the redesigned iPhone 5 against the current iPhone 4. By the looks of it, the purported iPhone 5 case above points to a wider and slightly longer iPad 2 and iPod Touch 4G-like form factor with a relocated silent switch.

We could be totally off the guessing game though. This case might even suggest a newly redesigned iPod Touch 5G with a large screen while keeping its steep contoured design. It would make sense for Apple to enlarge the screen size of their beloved portable gaming device. I don't feel like ditching the blocky design of the iPhone 4 for the more iPod Touch 4G-like design makes sense because of how less comfortable it is to hold. You can see a lot more comparisson photos over at Macitynet.

Apple To Release White iPod Touch 5G?

We've got our white and black iPhone 4s and iPad 2s, but where is our white iPod Touch?! Thankfully, we've got some hope with a brand new leak of what looks to be a white iPod Touch front screen panel that iFixit has leaked. September is fast approaching and that's generally the month when Apple refreshed the iPod line. At this point we don't know if Apple will announce a brand new and redesigned iPod Touch 5G, or only add a white model to the current lineup.

iOS 4.3 Is Out

Apple has released iOS 4.3 Software update for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3/4th, and the iPad. The updates include Better Airplay, Faster Safari, iTunes Home Sharing, iPad Switch Choice, and finally Personal Hotspots. This is great, it's another leap in iOS.

iOS 4.2 Released

After a long wait, apple has finallly released iOS 4.2 for the iPad. Around 5 months  since iOS4 was released for the iPhone. Anyway it is here now and it brings much needed multi-tasking, folders and AirPrint. The update also brings AirPlay, which lets you stream content on your iOS 4.2 device to an new Apple TV or an AirPlay compatible speaker and the Find My iPhone service is now free for all current generation hardware.

It's not all good news with this update though. As Apple has changed the switch above the volume rocker from a rotation lock to a mute button. I liked that button, please change it back Apple? Please?

You can update to iOS 4.2 through iTunes right now and see the devices available for upgrade below.
