AT&T Says No To FaceTime

News has just broke that AT&T has released a statement shedding some light on how they plan on going forwards with allowing FaceTime over their cellular network. Previously, speculation and rumors pointed to AT&T limiting users on enjoying FaceTime over 3G/4G, but as of today, AT&T is allowing its customers to FaceTime as they wish, but on one condition. You have to subscribe to their Mobile Share data plans.

Here's the official AT&T statement:

AT&T will offer FaceTime over Cellular as an added benefit of our new Mobile Share data plans, which were created to meet customers’ growing data needs at a great value. With Mobile Share, the more data you use, the more you save. FaceTime will continue to be available over Wi-Fi for all our customers.

As a side note, Sprint is offering FaceTime over their data network with no additional fees.

White Nexus S Found In The Wild

This is the real deal, a white Nexus S sporting an AT&T 3G bands and it's fully unlocked and officially real. Engadget managed to get some quality time with the white Nexus S from Google and Samsung and it looks like it's running Android 2.3.3, a.k.a Gingerbread. Aside from the AT&T bands, the white Nexus S has a textured back that makes gripping much better as well as a fingerprint-less experience. Head on over to Engadget for more pics and a bonus hands-on video.

Amazon Kindle 3G E-Reader Coming To AT&T Stores Nationwide

AT&T today announced it will begin selling Amazon's bestselling Kindle 3G in AT&T retail stores nationwide beginning March 6. The Kindle 3G will sell without a contract and wireless fees for $189. There isn't any special pricing compared to Amazon's online price but you will be able to test one out for yourself at an AT&T retail store. I say buy straight from Amazon and save on tax.
