The spaciest looking, hybrid drop-protective Samsung Galaxy S3 case ever created. It's called the Chisel case, and it's made by SYSTM - an Incase co-brand. Oh, and it's also available for the iPhone 5 incase you were wondering - pun intended. Available in multiple colors for $35.
Known for its machined aluminum cases, Element Case's new Soft-Tec line of synthetically-made cases for the iPhone 5, Galaxy S3 and the iPad mini are finally available for purchase. We first reported on the Soft-Tec cases back in January where Element Case first debut its new offerings at CES 2013. The company has released a $50 Soft-Tec wallet case for both the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3 which is made using a new non-slip, grippy rubber material from Element Case called Tech Grip. The supposedly high-tech material is a coating with a matte rubbery finish made to enhance the grip and feel of the case. We've seen a similar material used in the TidyTilt iPhone cover.
Element Case's Soft-Tec case has a slim protective profile with two card slots located on the inner flap. The Soft-Tec wallet case also features a magnetic closure and an embedded snap-on polycarbonate hard shell that can be folded into a horizontal viewing stand much like Twelve South's SurfacePad cover.
We can't help but think about how this case opens almost like an old-school Velcro wallet, with lots of excess flap left to deal with while you're using your device Luckily, there's an earpiece cutout to enable you to talk on the phone whilst the Soft-Tec's flap remains closed. Both Soft-Tec models for Apple's and Samsung's handsets are designed exaclty the same, while Element Case's $65 Soft-Tec case for the iPad mini understandably leaves out the credit card slots.
Known for creating some of the world's best aluminum iPhone cases, Element Case has introduced a number of new cases for the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3 that join the company's rugged composite line at CES 2013. For the iPhone 5, the Ion 5 case continues Element Case's Ion series featuring a sleek ergonomic shaped body constructed out of impact-resistant TPU with reinforced corner protection, and a genuine carbon fiber back inlay. The Ion 5 is also built with integrated volume and sleep/wake buttons.
OtterBox unveiled its impressive new Armor Series waterproof cases designed for the iPhone 5, iPhone 4/S and the Samsung Galaxy S3. The Armor Series case for the iPhone 5 in particular offers the same waterproof capabilities as LifeProof's Fre enabling you to submerge your iPhone 5 under 6.6ft of water for up to 30 minutes. However, because of its thick protective design, the Armor Series case can withstand higher 10ft drops compared to the Fre's 6ft maximum as well as withstand a crushing force of up to two tons.
Innovative design elements make the OtterBox Armor Series best in class when it comes to protection. Watertight latches, an o-ring seal, port covers and mesh coverings keep water out and allow the Armor Series to tolerate submersions for 30 minutes in up to 6.6 ft. of water. Vents and port covers are made of a non-permeable membrane and protective mesh layer that allows sound to move through while keeping harmful elements out.
The interior and exterior of the case features advanced materials that protect the device from 10 ft. drops. Over-molded bumpers in each corner of the case absorb shock and the high-strength reinforced plastic of the Armor Series can withstand up to two tons of force. Soft interior foam provides a cushioned, custom fit for the device, while the built-in screen protector prevents scratches and damage to the glass display.
Corrosion-resistant metal latches lock the two halves of the case together, providing simple, secure assembly. Port covers open easily for quick access to charging and headphone use without removing the case and a lanyard is included for convenient hands-free carrying.
OtterBox's Armor Series case will first be offered for the iPhone 4/S starting February 22, with the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 variants soon to follow. No prices were announced.
Element Case's first non-iPhone case has finally made its first debut today. The Atom S3 is Element Case's first composite case for the Samsung Galaxy S3 made not from aluminum, but from a ruggedized one-piece TPU body riddled with a real carbon fiber back inlay. The Atom S3 features an ergonomic and grippable surface with integrated buttons and reinforced corners for additional impact protection. The Atom S3 case for the Samsung Galaxy S3 is available now for $44.95.
Spigen SGP has released a slim, flip-style folio wallet case for Samsung's Galaxy S3 that's made from smooth fabric-like synthetic textured leather. Spigen SGP's Samsung Galaxy S3 Folio Flip Case features a soft Chamude interior that provides screen protection, openings to all buttons, back facing camera cutout and a card slot. The front cover has an earpiece cutout so that it enables you to talk on the phone even when the case is closed. The Samsung Galaxy S3 Folio Flip Case will be available soon in pink, blue and brown for $40.
