Curb MacBook Stand Cools Using Lift, Looks Good Too

After it released its AL13 aluminum bumper case for the iPhone, Designed by M is looking to reduce the amount of heat your MacBook generates by elevating it in order to increase cooling air flow underneath it with what the company calls the Curb. Featuring a MagSafe power cord catcher notched in its center, the Curb is a long silicone stand designed as a minimalist scalene triangle so it can be used in two different firm elevation heights that work on a flat desk surface, your lap or on a bed while reducing heat and thus fan noise. The Curb isn't the first of its kind, but it is one of the more affordably priced and good looking stands out there. Designed by M's Curb will ship in October, and you can pre-order one starting today in 7 colors for $13.

Carbon Fiber Sleeves Carry Your MacBook Formula One Style

If you love the stellar look of real carbon fiber and the tough protection it offers, then you can now encase your MacBook inside one of these lightweight carbon fiber monocoque sleeves sprayed with an automotive-grade clear coat shimmering finish that brings out the depth and detail of the carbon fiber texture, and are made by a company in the USA called DFWcomposites.

The carbon fiber sleeve for both the 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air is designed to follow the original wedge shaped design using hand-made tapered edges. The 15-inch MacBook Pro with or without a Retina Display in particular features a foam interior lining, while every carbon fiber MacBook sleeve is strengthened and hardened to protect the precious cargo it encases. You can pre-order one starting at a reasonable $85 over at Kickstarter. If DFWcomposites' Kickstarter reaches its funding goal, backers are expected to receive their carbon fiber sleeves as early as November.

And if you note at the colors in the graphic, they perfectly match iOS 7's theme as well as the colors we learned that the iPhone 5C will be offered in.

iPhone 5C Captured In Final Retail Packaging

Spoiler alert, this is what you'll be getting when you purchase Apple's upcoming cheeky iPhone 5C. Shown in this leaked photo, dozens of red iPhone 5C devices in retail packaging which in this photo appear pink in color most likely due to poor white balance. The white plastic capsule packaging checks out with previous leaks that displayed dozens of white empty packaging capsules casually tossed into a bin inside the factory with "iPhone 5C" branding on the side. It looks like Apple has gone with an iPod-esque clear top packaging to showcase all six iPhone 5C colors.

In addition, the default wallpaper is set to match the color of the device similar to how the iPod nano 7th generation is packaged. As if we didn't already know, both the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will come with iOS 7 at launch. Apple will hold a media event on September 10 where it'll announce its new iPhones.

Update: More colors have been leaked.

iDentity Faceplate Gives Your iMac A Colorful New Look

Own an iMac? That's great, but the one thing it lacks is a touch of personality. We use cases and skins to modify the way our iPhones look, so why not do the same on a much bigger scale? Cue iDentity, the first accessory of its kind to add a unique color to the face of your iMac using a svelte anodized aluminum faceplate which is designed to magnetically adhere to the bottom of an iMac also known as the "chin" - as it fully covers any evidence of its silverly aluminum facade minus the neat egg-shaped Apple logo cutout. No plastic skins here to ruin the brilliant fine finish and premium quality of your desktop machine.

The idea behind iDentity is so simple, yet so brilliant. And because iDentity essentially replaces the iMac's aluminum colored face, all of the six vibrant colors it comes in flawlessly compliment the iMac's black display bezel. In order to closely match the quality of surface finish found on the iMac, the iDentity's aluminum is bead-blasted to a smooth, refined finish. Being an iMac user myself, this is one of the very few Kickstarter products I seriously considered backing. Initial pricing start at $35 for a 21.5-inc iMac iDentity faceplate, and $45 for a 27-inch iMac iDentity faceplate in your choice of color. Catch the video after the break.
