Google Now Allowing Public To Get Early Access To Glass

Last summer Google announced at their Google I/O conference their “Explorer” edition of its Google Glass project allowing early buyers an opportunity to pre-order one for $1500. For those who think they are, “...creative individuals who want to join us and be a part of shaping the future of Glass,” Google is now taking open applications to allow the public to purchase their bold new headset. For those unfamiliar with the Glass project, it is an augmented reality head-set display that would display smartphone like information. Examples of what it could do include: taking a photo or video, allowing others to see what you see in real-time, give directions or even translate text for you. To apply, you’ll need to submit an application via Google+ or Twitter being 50 words or less describing what you would do if you had Glass and begin it with hashtag #ifihadglass. You can include up to 5 photos and a short 15 second max video also. If you get accepted you’ll still need the $1500 but you will be able to attend a, “special pick-up experience,” in Los Angeles, New York, or San Francisco. Good luck because the deadline is February 27th.

Kickstarter Launches iPhone App

As a creative outlet for people to help fund and follow new projects, Kickstarter has finally released a full featured iPhone App. As soon as you open it, you are presented with three options in Discover, Activity, and Profile. Discover lets you find new projects using a variety of search functions including: Staff Picks, Popular, and by category. If you like something you see, clicking on the project will show you a description, video, and pledge information. Activity will allow you to track the projects you have backed and inform you of updates to them. The Profile tab will allow you see the projects you have you backed, past and present, and allow you to make changes to your profile. Overall, the app is simple and streamlined yet full featured enough to allow you to use it without having to sacrifice any facet of the website. Kickstarer for iPhone is free now on the App Store.

‘Infinity Blade: Dungeons’ Put On Hold Indefinitely As Epic Games Shuts Down Impossible Studios

Epic Games announced yesterday the closer of Impossible Studios, the team that had been hard at work on Infinity Blade: Dungeons. Founder of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney announced via their community page that, “It was a bold initiative and the Impossible folks made a gallant effort, but ultimately it wasn’t working out for Epic.”

First announced during Apple’s iPad 3 event last year, Infinity Blade: Dungeons had seen its first signs of trouble last October when the game was delayed till 2013. Tim Sweeney also promised all Impossible Studios employees 3 months of severance pay along with allowing them the opportunity to form a new company using the same name. Considering the Infinity franchise has been a huge hit for them, it wouldn't be a surprise if this came out sooner than later.

Highly Anticipated Email Management App, Mailbox, Arrives In The App Store

Email is an old medium that Orchestra has decided to overhaul in their new iPhone App, Mailbox. Using intuitive hand gestures, you can quickly go through your email by just swiping across the screen. A quick swipe to the right archives your message while a longer slide deletes your message. Scan an email chain quickly with a conversation like view or snooze an email with a tap of a button. The snooze feature allows you to take care of an email at a later time with options for later that day, tomorrow, or even the weekend. When you have checked all your email for the time being, it will leave your screen empty, creaing a clean and zero inbox. Due to the high demand however, there is currently a reservation system in place which queues you behind other users who have requested an invite. The app is available now on the App Store for free.
