Gekko Stand Looks To Be The Only Stand You’ll Ever Need

Kickstarter continues to be a breeding ground for great and innovative products for your favorite gadgets and Gekko Stand hopes to be the next. As a designer, Dwight Houser became sick of the stands and mounts available on the market due to their “one-trick pony” like functionality. Enter the Gekko Stand, a multi-function stand+mount that works with just about any device, anywhere. It uses a NanoSuction pad that allows it to stick to any flat surface and won't leave any sticky residue behind when finished. Use it as a mount for your smartphone while driving or turn it into a stand for your tablet when stationary. The adjustable arm is made up of several ball and socket joints that can be put together or taken apart to adapt to your specific situation. It's like an adult lego accessory for your gadgets. For non-flat surfaces, a clamp can be used and with an entry price of $30, this product is too good to pass up. Gekko Stand is less than $1000 from reaching its project goal on Kickstarter and will be funded on March 15th.

Elevate Your iMac Or Thunderbolt Display With The Apogee Monitor Stand

Companies like Twelve South have built their entire business on accessories for Apple products. Powerslide Labs looks to do the same with their first product, The Apogee Monitor Stand. Built entirely out of aluminum, it has the look and finish of a something Apple would build themselves. It is designed to elevate your iMac or Monitor to allow for an ergonomic viewing angle. On the bottom of each of the legs are “grippy feet” to allow the stand to stay in place and keep from scratching your table. It comes with a built in cable management system to keep your desk looking clean and neat. Optionally, you can also order one with 3 built in USB 3.0 ports that is located on one of the front legs. The Apogee Monitor Stand is currently raising funds on Kickstarter and you can pledge $69 to get yours when it becomes available.

Tunto LED 8 PowerKiss Desk Lamp Can Wirelessly Charge Your Gadgets

Who would have thought that an ultra-cool LED lamp that features a wireless inductive charging surface mashed into one uber modern piece of technological lightpiece would cost upwards of $1400? The Tunto LED 8 PowerKiss table lamp is far from my budget for a desk lamp, but the things that I would do to own one... Its got an array of 9 bright LED lights for a total brightness output of 870 lumens hidden inside an ultra-thin piece of brilliantly finished wood of your choosing that is bent into its minimalist and Finnish designed shape. What's more is that the Tunto LED 8 PowerKiss lamp features touch-sensitive buttons for adjusting the light intensity and of course power on/off. What you won't be getting are ambient light sensors that will automatically adjust the light for you.

The lamp was designed by an award-winning design brand called Tunto with help of wireless charging technology made by PowerKiss. If your device doesn't support wireless charging, you've got to plug in a PowerKiss Ring adapter which will then let you wirelessly charge your device when set on top of the lamp's wooden base. PowerKiss' wireless technology does support the Qi standard, but the company doesn't offer any Apple Lightning adapters yet as one could also tell by the iPhone 4S being charged in the photo above. It's a beautiful piece nonetheless. And if you could live without the wireless charging feature, you'll be saving a whole lot of cash going with one of Tunto's smaller LED1 models that start at $660, and are also offered in multiple vibrant colors.

Samsung Races To Develop A Smartwatch Because It Can

Smartwatches are now like an upcoming boy band. They're increasingly becoming insanely popular, whilst grabbing the attention of some of the world's largest and notable tech companies. Lately, rumors are pointing that Samsung is also working on a smartwatch of its own that'll compete with what else? Apple's rumored, and highly anticipated iWatch. Samsung's rumored touchscreen smartwatch is dubbed the Galaxy Altius, and from what we can tell, it looks pretty slick. That is if this so called concept will see the light of day.

Other than displaying some typical "smart" features along with modern digital watch face, the concept image above may very well share a similar design language with that of the purported Altius smartwatch - in that it'll have a removable module which will fit into various interchangeable wrist bands, and presumably other accessories similar to that of Motorola's MotoACTV. Apparently, someone has also leaked a few screenshots of the Galaxy Altius' OS and user interface, but those were quickly called out as fakes. Judging by Samsung's push for new products, we can only assume the Galaxy Altius will officially be revealed sooner rather than later.
